Ferrari Announces Resignation of Mattia Binotto

Well I think we all saw this coming after having a great start to the 2022 season everything just started to fall apart. Bad decisions mixed in with a little bad luck, finally did in Ferrari team prinncipal Mattia Binotto. After only four years in the top job, Binotto will be packing his desk and leaving at the end of December.

"I have decided to conclude my collaboration with Ferrari, I am leaving a company that I love, which I have been part of for 28 years. I think it is right to take this step at this time as hard as this decision has been for me." - Mattia Binotto told AutoWeek.

While Ferrari did return to a competitive landscape in 2022—it finished a distant second to Red Bull in the F1 Constructors’ Championship—it was out-developed by Red Bull, suffered crucial reliability issues, and made strategic blunders.

Ferrari has not yet named a successor to Binotto and is not expected to do so until the New Year. It is understood that the position was offered to several prominent figures in the paddock, but Ferrari’s advances were firmly rejected.
