Cars & ‘Q started in 2009, as a small gathering of car enthusiasts and Choate Construction employees who were bonded by their love for automobiles and their commitment to supporting the fight against cystic fibrosis. What began as a modest gathering blossomed over the years into an award-winning extravaganza, drawing in over 1,000 patrons and raising substantial funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. As they approach the 14th year of this incredible event, the impact it has had is nothing short of extraordinary. I want to thank the dedication of the Cars & ‘Q community and the participants from the Metro Motorcar Club that take part in this wonderful event. This year we had 11 cars represented in the show. In this blog post, we’ll take you on a journey through the event’s history, celebrating its evolution and the remarkable spirit that drives it forward.
A Humble Beginning: Cars & ‘Q Takes Shape
The Cars & ‘Q for the Cause event had modest beginnings in 2009, initiated by a handful of Choate Construction employees with a shared passion for cars and a desire to make a difference in the fight against cystic fibrosis. Inspired by the vibrant spirit and resilience of Leann Rittenbaum Ott, a dear friend and a source of inspiration for the cause, the event was infused with a sense of purpose from the start. Even if you are not fortunate enough to work at Choate Construction, it is widely known that every employee is considered a valued member of the family.
From Passion to Purpose: The Growth of Cars & ‘Q
Over the years, the event flourished, transforming from a small gathering into a grand spectacle that captivates car enthusiasts and charity supporters alike. With every passing year, Cars & ‘Q evolved, drawing in more participants, sponsors, and patrons, all contributing to the cause. The Warrior Award, named in memory of Leann Rittenbaum Ott, became a symbol of honor, recognizing sponsors who demonstrated unwavering dedication to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation through their support of the show and its mission.
Racing Towards a Brighter Future: $3.7 Million and Counting
As the event approaches its 14th year, the impact of Cars & ‘Q is nothing short of awe-inspiring. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, patrons, and participants, over $3.13 million has been raised through the show, directly benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. This remarkable achievement stands as a testament to the collective strength of the Cars & ‘Q community and their commitment to making a difference in the lives of those affected by cystic fibrosis. Now, after raising $670,047 this year that total sits just over $3.7 million.
